Consulting

Consulting that strengthens the organizations supporting youth and emerging adults.

We partner with organizations to improve the systems, programs, practices, and environments that shape how young people are supported. Every engagement is grounded in trauma-informed practice, lived experience, and a commitment to turning understanding into meaningful action.

Consulting, Defined

Consulting is more than training

A workshop addresses a specific learning need. Consulting lets us work alongside your team over time — assessing needs, developing strategy, supporting implementation, and building internal capacity for sustainable improvement beyond a standalone session.

Why Organizations Partner With Us

Credible guidance, delivered with care

Credible

Recommendations grounded in evidence-informed practice and real-world experience.

Collaborative

We work with your team, not around it, so solutions fit your culture and capacity.

Trauma-Informed

Every recommendation accounts for how stress and history shape behavior and experience.

Sustainable

We build internal capacity so progress continues after we step back.

Our Consulting Capabilities

Six ways we work alongside your team

Each capability addresses a distinct part of how your organization operates. Engagements often combine several, tailored to where you are now and where you want to go. The agreed scope determines which capabilities and deliverables are included.

Trauma-Informed Consulting

Embedding trauma-informed principles into policies, practices, and environments

We assess how your organization currently responds to behavior and translate that understanding into policies, everyday practices, and relational and physical environments that support rather than harm.

Intended goal: a shared language for trauma-informed practice and fewer reactive, punitive responses.

  • Assessment of current culture, policies, and practices
  • Trauma-informed policy and practice recommendations
  • Leadership guidance on modeling trauma-informed values

Strategic Planning

Clear direction, built on your mission

We guide a collaborative planning process that translates your mission into practical priorities, measurable goals, and a roadmap your team can follow — aligning leadership, staff, and stakeholders around a shared direction.

Intended goal: a mission-aligned plan with clear priorities, timelines, and measures of progress.

  • Collaborative planning sessions grounded in your mission
  • A practical strategic roadmap with defined priorities
  • Milestones and accountability structures tied to outcomes

Program Consultation

Stronger programs, from design to evaluation

We review your existing programs and help refine design, structure, participant experience, and outcome measurement — so each program aligns with the needs it's meant to meet.

Intended goal: clearer program goals, structure, and measures for evaluating impact.

  • Program design, structure, and emotional-development review
  • Guidance on evaluation, outcomes, and improvement
  • Recommendations tailored to your setting

Community Engagement

Engagement rooted in listening, not assumption

We design strategies that center the people most affected — through listening sessions, community voice, and trust-building — and turn what you learn into stronger outreach and partnership.

Intended goal: stronger trust with the communities you serve and engagement grounded in real input.

  • Listening sessions and feedback design that center community voice
  • Culturally responsive outreach that builds trust
  • Partnership-building that turns input into better practice

TRAUMA-INFORMED ORGANIZATIONAL PRACTICE

Strengthening the Environment Behind the Service

Traumana Group Services helps organizations examine how their practices, environments, communication, and everyday approaches may affect the children, adolescents, young adults, families, and communities they serve.

The goal is not simply to become “trauma-informed” in name, but to identify practical ways trauma-informed understanding can be reflected in how the organization actually operates.

  • Examine organizational practices through a trauma-informed lens
  • Identify practices or environments that may unintentionally create barriers
  • Strengthen approaches that support dignity, safety, communication, and engagement
  • Develop practical recommendations that fit the organization and the population it serves

Capacity Building

Internal expertise that lasts beyond the engagement

We equip staff and leadership with practical knowledge, tools, and frameworks — and develop internal champions who carry the work forward after we step back.

Intended goal: a more capable, confident team prepared to sustain the work.

  • Staff workshops tailored to how your team works
  • Tools, frameworks, and resources staff can use independently
  • Implementation support and development of internal champions

Our Process

How a consulting engagement unfolds

Every engagement is tailored to your mission, staff, and needs. Most partnerships move through four phases, with visibility and input at every step.

01

Listen & Assess

We listen to leadership, staff, and where appropriate the people you serve, and assess your mission, culture, systems, and needs.

02

Design a Plan

Together we shape a practical plan with clear priorities, timelines, and measures of success suited to your goals and capacity.

03

Implement Together

We work alongside your team as changes take hold, offering hands-on support, training, and adjustments along the way.

04

Sustain & Grow

We build internal capacity and tools so progress continues, evaluating outcomes and celebrating growth together.

Program Development

Custom programs built around the young people you serve

No two organizations serve young people in exactly the same way. We partner closely with your team to design programs around your mission, your setting, the youth and emerging adults you serve, and what meaningful success looks like for your organization — never forced into a one-size-fits-all model.

Collaborative

We design with your team, not for them — bringing staff, leadership, and relevant partners into the same conversation.

Trauma-Informed

Every program is grounded in an understanding of how stress and trauma shape the young people your organization serves.

Built to Last

We design for sustainability, so your program continues to support youth and emerging adults well after launch.

Program Examples by Sector

Programs shaped around the sector you serve

Every sector carries its own culture, pressures, and population. Below are examples of sectors customized programs can serve.

Schools

Programs supporting emotional development, resilience, engagement, and well-being in educational environments.

Libraries

Programs that help libraries strengthen their role as accessible, supportive community spaces for youth.

Faith Organizations

Programs helping faith-based organizations create supportive, emotionally aware environments for young people.

Government Agencies

Programs for agencies whose services, policies, or community work affect youth and emerging adults.

Community Organizations

Programs developed around the lived realities and needs of the young people these organizations serve.

Healthcare

Non-clinical, trauma-informed educational and support programs that strengthen how organizations engage youth.

Development Process

From idea to lasting impact

01

Discover

We listen — learning your mission, setting, and the experiences of the youth you serve.

02

Assess

We evaluate existing resources, gaps, and readiness grounded in your real capacity.

03

Design

We co-create a program structure and materials tailored to your goals.

04

Launch

We support implementation, train your team, and refine the program as it comes to life.

05

Evaluate & Sustain

We measure impact and help you build capacity to sustain and grow the program.

Framework Development

Original frameworks, built on research

Some organizations need more than programming. Traumana develops original trauma-informed frameworks and structured models that help your organization strengthen how it understands, engages, educates, supports, and responds to youth and emerging adults — then customizes them to your mission and goals.

A framework organizes principles and guides decisions or practice. A program structures activities, learning, and delivery. Frameworks can shape and guide programs, but the two serve different purposes.

Our frameworks translate research and real experience into practical, usable models. Implementation, customization, ownership, and usage rights are defined in the agreed engagement. Frameworks are research-informed, not clinically validated unless separately documented.

Original Framework Design

We create new, research-informed models grounded in evidence and lived experience.

Framework Customization

We adapt and refine existing models to fit your unique setting and needs.

Integration Support

We help align frameworks with your existing systems, language, and culture.

Implementation Guidance

We support you in putting the framework into practice and sustaining it.
