Understand Yourself Beyond What You’ve Experienced
Private Trauma-Informed Coaching for Adults 25+
Our experiences can shape how we see ourselves, navigate relationships, and respond to the world. Some patterns develop through difficult experiences; others simply reflect our natural temperament, personality, values, or preferences. Private coaching offers a supportive, nonjudgmental space to explore these differences, understand learned patterns, and make intentional choices about how you want to move forward.
You don’t need to identify as a trauma survivor to benefit from coaching. Whether you’re exploring the influence of childhood experiences or simply seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, you don’t have to arrive with all the answers.
Requesting an appointment begins an inquiry. It does not immediately book or purchase a session.

Your Journey Doesn’t Have to Begin With Trauma
People seek personal growth and emotional support for many different reasons. Some recognize the influence of their past. Others are beginning to question familiar patterns, beliefs, or ways of responding. Private coaching welcomes adults who want to explore:
- How childhood experiences may influence adult life.
- Learned behaviors and protective adaptations.
- Personal identity and self-understanding.
- Emotional awareness and expression.
- Boundaries, communication, and relationship patterns.
- Self-worth, confidence, and self-trust.
- Stress, overwhelm, and personal resilience.
- The distinction between natural temperament and learned responses.
You do not need to identify as a trauma survivor to benefit from self-exploration and personal development. Coaching is welcoming to adults of all genders, including men who want to better understand their emotional experiences or develop greater confidence expressing their thoughts and needs.
Three Ways to Engage in Private Coaching
Traumana Group Services offers two group coaching formats and individual coaching for adults ages 25 and older. Group coaching is our preferred approach for private clients, because shared exploration often deepens self-understanding — but each format serves a different preference.
Preferred Format
Structured Group Coaching
Structured group coaching offers a guided learning experience organized around specific themes, objectives, and activities. Participants explore emotional awareness, self-understanding, communication, boundaries, and personal growth through facilitated discussion, reflection, and practical exercises.
This format is ideal for individuals who appreciate a clear learning structure and opportunities to develop skills alongside others.
Open Group Coaching
Open group coaching offers a facilitated, discussion-centered environment where participants can explore emotions, everyday experiences, personal challenges, and opportunities for growth.
Rather than following a fixed curriculum, conversations are guided by relevant topics and participants’ interests. Sessions encourage reflection, emotional awareness, shared perspectives, and meaningful learning.
Participants are welcome to contribute at their comfort level without pressure to share personal experiences.
Individual Coaching
Individual coaching provides personalized, one-on-one support for adults who prefer to explore their experiences, emotional awareness, self-understanding, and personal growth privately.
Open group coaching is a facilitated, discussion-centered format — not an unstructured, unsupervised, or clinical therapy session. All coaching is nonclinical and is not a substitute for licensed mental-health treatment.
Explore What You Want to Understand
These are focus areas within private coaching — not separate programs. Your experiences may overlap several of these areas, and you don’t have to fit neatly into one category.
Identity, Self-Understanding & Learned Patterns
Explore how personal experiences, environment, and natural characteristics may shape the way you see yourself and respond to the world around you.
Childhood Experiences & Emotional Adaptations
Some experiences from childhood may continue to influence how we think and relate to others. Explore these influences without assuming your past defines your future.
Emotional Awareness & Regulation
Develop a clearer understanding of your emotions and learn to respond intentionally rather than automatically.
Healthy Boundaries & Relationship Patterns
Explore communication, boundaries, people-pleasing, self-advocacy, and recurring relationship patterns.
Introvert Wellness & Self-Acceptance
Understand and appreciate your natural temperament. Introversion is not a disorder or something that needs correcting.
Self-Worth, Confidence & Personal Resilience
Explore self-trust, internal validation, confidence, and ways to build a stronger sense of self.
Stress, Overwhelm & Burnout
Explore emotional exhaustion, over-responsibility, difficulty resting, and practical ways to navigate everyday demands.
Emotional Awareness & Self-Expression for Men
Not every man who struggles to express himself is emotionally unavailable or unwilling to communicate. Some men understand what they’re feeling but find it difficult to put those emotions into words. Others grew up where emotional expression was discouraged, or simply prefer privacy and need more time to process. A respectful, nonjudgmental space can help men explore their emotional experiences and develop ways of expressing themselves that feel authentic.
- Identifying and naming emotions.
- Exploring messages about masculinity and emotional expression.
- Distinguishing natural introversion from learned emotional suppression.
- Communicating personal needs and boundaries.
- Developing emotional awareness without pressure to become more outwardly expressive.
Being quiet, independent, reserved, or introverted is not inherently unhealthy or trauma-related.

You do not need to prepare a detailed personal history or share experiences you are not ready to discuss. You are welcome to ask questions and share what would help you feel supported during coaching.

Katrina B. Phillips, CARC-I, CARC-II
Katrina B. Phillips brings a distinctive perspective to trauma-informed work — one shaped by lived experience, professional training, and continued education in trauma, emotional well-being, human behavior, recovery, and trauma-informed approaches.
Her coaching approach helps adults look beyond behavior and become curious about the person and the story underneath it — recognizing what may be a learned adaptation and what reflects who you genuinely are. She brings lived experience and professional knowledge together to support self-understanding, emotional awareness, and intentional personal growth.
Survival Mode Isn’t Your Identity™
“Who are you when you’re no longer just surviving?”
Some behaviors and protective responses may develop in response to earlier experiences. Coaching can help you explore what you learned, what continues to serve you, and what you may want to approach differently — without suggesting your entire personality is a trauma response. Not every personality trait or behavior is trauma-based.
“What once helped you get through something can become so familiar that it simply feels like part of who you are.”
The R.E.A.L. Time Healing Method™
A trauma-informed coaching framework that helps people understand how earlier experiences may have shaped the ways they learned to think, respond, protect themselves, and move through the world. It is a coaching framework — not clinical psychotherapy or a scientifically validated treatment.
Reconnect
Reconnect with the parts of yourself and experiences that deserve attention.
Embrace
Acknowledge emotions and experiences without allowing them to define your entire identity.
Align
Identify what reflects who you are now rather than automatically continuing patterns that may have developed through adaptation.
Liberate
Move forward with greater choice, self-understanding, and emotional freedom.
Healing isn’t about erasing what happened. It’s about understanding what shaped you, recognizing what you adapted to, and deciding what you want to carry forward.

Understanding the Role of Coaching
Traumana Group Services provides trauma-informed coaching, education, and personal development support.
Coaching is not psychotherapy, psychiatric treatment, crisis intervention, or a substitute for services provided by licensed mental health professionals. Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions.
Individuals requiring clinical mental health treatment or emergency support may be referred to an appropriate licensed professional or emergency resource.
Private coaching is available directly to adults ages 25 and older. Coaching for ages 8–24 is provided through organizational partnerships.
Understand yourself more clearly. Decide what you want to carry forward.
You are more than what happened to you, what others expected from you, or the roles you learned to carry. Private coaching gives you space to understand your experiences and consider what you may want to do differently going forward.
Traumana Group Services, LLC provides coaching and educational services — not psychotherapy or a substitute for licensed mental-health treatment.
